About The Magazine
|
|
Overview |
M is a member supported monthly
art magazine and listings guide that combines genuine editorial
content with comprehensive art listings in a single, elegant
format. In addition to providing up-to-date art listings (complete
with detailed maps that show the nearest subway stops) the
magazine maintains a professional editorial staff of art journalists
who write critical essays on art and interview key figures
in the art world.
Handsomely printed on heavy-weight catalog quality paper,
M also operates an easy-to-remember website, TheNewYorkArtWorld.com,
that complements the magazine with select press releases of
important exhibitions (these include images and links to exhibitors’
own web sites), as well as national and international art
listings with corresponding links and interactive art maps.
All of the art reviews published in M are archived on the
magazine’s website, and these can be easily accessed
by individuals and institutions for research. The site also
lists gallery openings and receptions.
Together, the monthly printed M and its Internet companion,
TheNewYorkArtWorld.com, form a smart one-stop information
resource for the art professional and art enthusiast. In so
doing, the magazine delivers a remarkably focused advertising
environment of upscale consumers and professionals.

History |
M began monthly publication as
The Chelsea Art Guide in September 1997. The following year
it was expanded to include listings for all of the art districts
throughout New York.
The web site for the magazine, TheNewYorkArtWorld.com, was
launched in June 2000. The printed magazine was expanded again
in 2005 to include listings and art maps for the upcoming
art districts of Miami, together with New York.
Today M is recognized among art professionals as the insider’s
source for credible news, comprehensive art listings and independent
editorial coverage of today’s art world.
